Mini Satins are an exciting new breed.
A feast for the eyes, they glisten like little jewels.

What is a Mini Satin?
Mini Satins are a recently recognized rabbit breed developed from the larger American Satin breed but weighing in at a mere four pounds. As with the standard Satin, Mini Satins possess a recessive trait that results in a more transparent covering of the hair shaft. This produces a much more visible brilliance of color than rabbits without the satin trait. Today's recognized Mini Satins are the result of selective breeding between White Satins, Florida Whites, and Mini Rexs.

Our Stock
We are serious about breeding quality rabbits, both in type and temperament. We began by selecting foundation stock from Jim Krahulec (Zoom's Rabbitry), who was awarded the first
ARBA Certificate of Development for Mini Satins in 1995. We are carefully working toward breeding a consistently typed Mini Satin while maintaining quality markings and excellent temperament. Our focus is on the otter and marten patterns, blacks, chocolates, and reds. Due to the genetics of our foundation stock, we do find the ermine pattern in our litters (this is genetically distinct from the blue-eyed white).

About Us
Located in Columbia, MO, we are a family operation who really enjoys our small herd of Mini Satin rabbits. We've inherited strong family traditions for affinity with animals. This is rooted in breeding and showing rabbits during childhood, growing up in a commercial hatchery, as well as the breeding, training, and showing of several species.

Beyond our background, we really enjoy what we are doing. The careful selection and planning of genetics is brain-candy for us, all the while enjoying irresistible bunnies who produce organics for our garden.

And yes, that is a leash on Chestnut (left), the pet bunny who rekindled our interest in breeding rabbits with the next generation in our family.
